- holstein13ExplorerI came in on I-66 last Sunday and had to endure some lane closures for construction around Haymarket / Gainesville. Other than that, I haven't seen any other construction going on in the area.
I'm at Cherry Hill until Memorial Day and like it here. It's a bit pricey but it's my third time back so you can look at that as an endorsement. - Passin_ThruExplorerMy wife is a Part time Squirrel Cop for NVRPA. You'll be safe from squirrels when she is around. LOL> Actually she is a part time Ranger, used to be fulltime so look for her on Sundays. Better get your reservation in or you'll be staying a long way away from DC. Tysons is on 287 where the construction for the Silver Line is.
- John_S_Explorer III got stuck in construction by Tyson's yesterday. Go figure.

Where in Virginia is the Beltway under construction? I drive it on a daily basis and I can't think of any area in Virginia where it is under construction right now. All of the exits and flyovers are done, the hot lanes are done and the work for Metro by Tyson's Corner is done.

- phillygExplorer IIHave stayed at Pohick many times. Nice and convenient to DC if you must.
- LantleyNomadTry Pohick Bay much closer than Cherry Hill. Cherry Hill is a good choice for touring DC but if you want to be in Northern VA,Pohick Bay is a much better location.
Prince William Forest is also a decent option a little further south
Pohick Bay
Prince William Forest - nomad297ExplorerTake a look at Mason Neck Park. It is part of the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority. I just drove through there the other day because I was at a job right around the corner. It's a really nice place with access to the Potomac River. It is about twenty minutes out of Old Town Alexandria and very close to Mount Vernon.
Bruce - jfkmkExplorerX3 on Cherry Hill. They run a shuttle to the Metro and from there you can get to Alexandria. Cherry Hill is a little pricy (but you have to consider the area) but is extremely clean and well run. It is near highways, so it's a little noisy.
- rgatijnet1Explorer IIIBesides the propane restriction for the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel, it is just not practical for MOST Class A rigs. The width limit is 96" for vehicles and MOST Class A coaches are around 102" in width. Just avoid it completely and you will be safe.
