RV security

Does anyone use a security service for their coach? An alarm system or alarm system company? I understand many just use a gun but you know as you get older there are many things that can possibly happen and I was curious to find out if there even is such a service for those of us full-timers?

Crime can, and does, happen anywhere. We just saw a mass shooting on a military base in an area with extremely tight security.
  • We sort of looked into the RV Nanny set-up (www.rvnanny.com) because it can send a text if
the power goes off. Nice feature to have if you leave pets in the camper while you are
out for the day. Kinda pricey and still not sure how it all works.

As said above, a security company would be sort of useless if you move around frequently.

On the other part of the subject....pass the popcorn, please.

  • I've never heard of using an alarm service for a motorhome, but I guess it could be done. Many burglar alarms are cell phone based now versus land line based, so I'm sure they could install one. The problem is the alarm company would have to know where the motorhome is all the time if it were to be any good. They are just going to get the phone call in from the alarm system saying there is an alarm, but they won't get a location. If you are talking about just using it when it's in storage that would work.
  • Just convert an armored car into RV, problem solved

I use a private security guard, on duty 24/7. Most alarm services are too slow.
Any type of service is available for a price. How deep are your pockets? :B
Break out the popcorn and bacon.:p
