I found I liked going to the laundry mat very nice - compared to owning my own washer in the home that I had.
It was because I would buy 2 dozen underwear and socks, 8 pairs of jeans, and 8 pairs of shorts. On laundry day, I could walk in and take over 4 or 5 of the largest tumbling washing machines, get the clothes and sheets all done in about 3 hours. Washed, dried, and folded. At home I could spend 2-3 hours a day 3-4 days a week, and never seemed to finish. .
Now if you buy a RV with a washer/dryer, it normally must be in a full hookup site to use it, as most will not drain into the grey tank, but must drain into the sewer.
Some have reported that 2 shirts and 1 pair of jeans make up a really full load for the tiny appliance. Also that doing a bedspread is impossible.
I would much rather spend only 1 day every 3 weeks doing laundry. Not do load after load in a tiny machine.
Not to mention that the washer will take away 300 pounds of cargo capacity, and take up what could have been a huge closet!
You might want to look at a used Country Coach. They typically will have a laundry room in it. Some might not have the washer, but will have washer hook ups in a closet designed for that reason. Country Coach is a nice RV, and it would be possible to buy a 1998 (like my friend has - he bought his new for $250,000 +/-) for around $40,000.
