Something I've often thought about is how practical would it be to have the air horns hooked up to the ABS sensors or some other sensor that determines extremely hard braking. In other words, if one is stopping fast enough to activate the ABS, the air horns would automatically come on. I've had someone cut me off, and the horn was the last thing I was worried about. Looking, steering and braking were my primary concerns. Hands were glued to the wheel, so letting go with one hand to hit the horn was not an option. I think the person did eventually hear my wheels squeal, and got moving quick, but if I had been able to hit the horn at the same point I was slamming on the brakes, the person probably would not have even entered my lane. Applying that to this situation, when the RV driver first hit the brakes, the horns would have made enough noise for the officer to react and possibly have gotten out of the way.
