Saddle mount wiper blades

Well, my wiper blades lasted 5 years but, they are shot now. I pulled the blades off yesterday and took them and got a good chuckle from the guy at the Auto Zone. The blade is wider than a standard blade and the assembly is a saddle mount. Is there a way for me to convert this business so I can run a standard blade assembly. It's just a 20 inch so, it's nothing exotic. The saddle mount is the issue. I actually think that I could modify a new blade assembly to fit in the saddle pretty easy (which is what I will try if I can't find the replacement blade. I'm trying to avoid spending $50.00 bucks. I will if I have too but, the redneck in my won't like it.

    that's what i do
  • My 24" saddle mount blade frames were ok, so I just replaced the blades themselves with slide in replacements from NAPA. About $6 as I recall.

I have to grind the rivet holding the standard clip in mount off to use on my saddle mount arm. Maybe this 20" will work.

  • Sorry- You made the "redneck" comment. Couldn't resist.
