Safe-T-Plus 41-230 Blue High-Performance Steering Control

On our previous mh, a 2005 Winnebago Voyage, 33ft gasser was installed and we were extremely satisfied with how the coach handled. Our current coach is a 2004 Newmar Dutch Star, 4015 dp on a Spartan MM chassis. Would like any comments from those with similar coaches that have had this done and your likes/dislikes.
  • I'm kind of interested in feedback as well. I'm looking at installing this on my DP.
  • I was looking at one for mine. For a little more I went with the Blue Ox Tru Center. I like that you can adjust it while driving for wind and road crown.
  • Had one on my 2000 35' Rexhall gasser. Worked great. Without it if you released the steering wheel the MH would be out of it's lane within 10 seconds. With it I could get 30 seconds to a minute hands-off without drifting out of the lane.

It was a bear to get proper adjustment though. Would have to stop at every rest stop to make minute adjustments. Took 5-6 stops before I got it dialed in. The adjustment is to loosen the two "U" bolds on the front axle and move them a tiny bit. A threaded bolt type adjustment would have made the job a lot easier. This is on an F53 chassis. Don't know how it would work on a DP.

I will probably install one on the 2014 30'er I just bought, also on an F53 chassis. The Blue OX adjustable from the cockpit sounds nice, depending on the price delta. A friend had something like that on a couple of MH's. One leaked and the other quit working. Not sure if they were Blue Ox though.
  • As well as handling, it is an assist in the event of a steer tire blowout. That would be reason enough to add it. Steering is an added bonus. In other words, it is a good thing even if you don't notice much steering improvement.
  • Installed one on our 2005 Revolution. It is a Spartan MM chasis 41ft long. I love it, and would install on any coach (if I could afford a new one that is).
