Sales Advice - Lots f Interested Buyers!

Hi Team,

We advertise our Class A on RV Trader. We priced it at $10K less than its nearest competitor. In addition, ours had 4 years left on a XtraRide Platinum Warranty and several significant upgrades.

Well, within less than 48 hours we have been overwhelmed with interest and folks are rushing to view it first. We alreaddy have one person who says they will outbid all others.

So what would be a reasonable way to manage this? Allow folks to view it and submit offers for a week or so. Then chose the most attractive one (may not be highest price).

I know it is a good problem to have. However, I would appreciate your thoughts on ways to proceed.

Thanks

  • Some people just aren't douche bags.
My son and his girlfriend purchased their house from a fsbo
They were the first ones to look at it and offered just what we was asking. Meanwhile other people came and offered more and he refused. He even waited while the kids mortgage was approved.

  • Maybe you did not ask enough to begin with. :B
In any case, I would sell it to the first person to give you the money that you asked for..either cash or wire transfer ONLY.
Do not wait for anyone to get financing and do not accept a cashier's check.
  • Everybody is a qualified buyer over the phone or on the internet. You wouldn't be the first person to be convinced to turn away qualified buyers waiting on that guy who going to pay you more than anyone else only to find out that person never shows. Or they show up and pick your rig apart and try to negotiate a much lower price. Or they are totally willing to pay an excessive price if you are willing to overlook their past financial difficulties and finance them. Or maybe they just con you out of the rig.
The only answer is first come/first served with cash or easily verifiable financing in place. Don't get greedy, get your price and be thankful.
  • What do you mean? "May not be the highest price"! Are you a charity or just not good with money matters? What would make the highest price not to YOUR liking???????? I would ONLY accept Cash or equivalent. As long as the highest offer is total price money in your pocket, I don't see how you would entertain a lower offer. I know you are happy about the interest in your RV, but take it from me and others that have sold. You will find a lot of people just wasting your time, even tho you have priced it below the market. Don't sit and think you really have a lot of control with so called offers, take the first one who can supply the price you require. Don't think that person who stated will outbid others is a qualified buyer. Doug
  • Cash only and warning of those who offer more that the asking price/bid
  • I would send out an email, that who ever was first in line with cash is the new owner. You are not running a business trying to be fair to gain new customers, you are selling an item one time.
