I have always been somewhat fascinated by the Salton Sea and it's history. I am heading that way(not in the RV) and was thinking about cutting over and checking it out. In trying to find info online...

Leonard Knight died last year. What has become of his "Salvation Mountain", I don't know as it's been a couple years since we've visited. You won't find the apocalypse as you imagine. What you will find is pretty much a homeless encampment, where most folks take a "live and let be" attitude. It's a worthwhile trip to take once as is a trip through Detroit Michigan. If for no other reason but to make you aware of what could/will happen when politicians don't pay attention. It's sad really...especially all the dead fish with no one ready, willing or able to clean it up....the fish simply wash ashore, die and rot. Even the birds won't eat them...we will look forward to seeing your pictures. Please post a link when you return.......Dennis
