San Diego to las Vegas Nevada

Well, I'm gonna break from the pack a little. I've lived in Temecula (off the 79 exit off Hwy 15) and we've driven our rig from San Diego (40 footer) many times up the 15. You will run into horrendous traffic during rush hour, but other times of the day are fine. Fridays are worse, all the way to Vegas. No doubt. But do-able, especially now that summer is over. (Go figure, people actually want to go to the desert in the summer). I have driven to Vegas thousands of times (never in the rig), and I've always taken the 15 right on in. Never went on the 215. 215 is two lanes most of the way, and won't save you any time. None of it is white-knuckle driving as long as you don't do it during rush hour. If you leave San Diego about 8-9ish, you will be fine. Don't worry. You'll be fine. We got stuck in the 15/91/210 traffic on a Friday during rush hour into Van Nuys (L.A. - way worse), and we were fine. Towing our Jeep.
