Whether it's cable, OTA antenna, or even video streaming, satellite tv easily outperforms all, particularly when RVing. Signal loss is a non-issue 99% of the time, but is more prevalent among automated satellite domes as compared to residential-style sat dishes mounted on stands/tripods.
No doubt it is the more expensive option but we have always had Directv since their advent many moons ago and simply started taking our bedroom sat receiver with us when RVing. We just purchase the same dish we have at home online and set it up on a tripod upon arrival to our destination.
We have switched back and forth a few times over the many years and found that Directv and Dish pretty much offer the same channels although at one time Directv had an edge on exclusive sports programming which is not the case at present. Dish network tends to be more RVer friendly.
Peruse their packages online and give them a call to get the best deal for your home. Equipment and installation is part of the deal, just need to figure out which method you want to use to acquire the satellite signal while RVing. Test out either method at home to ensure your RV is satellite ready.
