As above we use Winegard Trav'ler with directv, works great. It is the same big dish as the stand alone one on the ground. All automatic. We were on Dish but were not happy so we switched. We have a HD antenna but have found it all but useless, unless you watch PBS , Spanish stations or ME tv. Our rig came with a tracvision type roof satellite but that was nothing but trouble. You can use the stand alone manual dish but with the new Directv single LNB you need a good meter to lock on the signal. We use this if we are extended stay and don't have a line of sight for the Travler.
