The Single wire multi-switch requires that the lnb be powered and therefore the power inserter.. The new HR54 has the power inserter built-in. In my motorhome I used two dver's connected to a matrix switch so we can watch either of the dvr's on any tv. The dvr's are large so barely fit in the rack. So I want to bring the Hr54 and a wired mini. The dvr is smaller than others and the mini is just that. So I think this will be even better than my older system. With everything in one location there is no need to have a dvr in bedroom or outside as it is all powered by the matrix switch. Works well.
