Schwintek Slides, are these new on the market ?

Only as of recent I have heard about these slides, also have heard of only bad issues with these slides, issues on TT, FW and Motorhomes, maybe one should avoid these slides till they can be made better, also saw a pic of the motors and they are very small.

Slides have gotten better over the years but these new ones are going to bring a sour image to slide out issues, glad mine are the Power Gear electric brand..

So they have only been on the market for about 3 years and all those companies jump on the new slide outs, it appears many issues with them so far, they must have been a cheaper option for the manufactures to go for something new and unproven, if I ever move up in another motorhome I will stay away from these till they get the bugs worked out of them, I have seen the motors on the Schwintek Slides and they are small, don't know how they even would work on full slides but some have them.

Schwintek seems to be a slide within a slide (kind of like a bay window)which would be a more complicated system to manufacture and install and something we would avoid.

These are sort of new on the market for slide outs, seen them on full wall slides and they have lots of issues, just trying to warn new buyers about the issues, why manufactures don't stay with the tried and proven systems and move into something that is only going to cause warranty issues and not so happy customers in the future..

But than again I guess I just here about the bad ones but might be many happy customers with these type of slides.
  • not sure what point you are trying to make but we have a Newmar and have never had a slide issue. As I recall Newmar was the one that really started the slide revolution back in the 90's. Glad you like power gear but I prefer we HWH and Newmar.
