Sedona area boondocking

Hello Everyone: Will be in Sedona area first two weeks of March. Looking for a good spot to boondock. We drive a Tiffen Phaeton DP, 40ft.

Thanks, Vikki

  • In addition to the above mentioned spot, You can boondock 5 miles south of Cottonwood on AZ-260. From the intersection of 89A and AZ-260 go toward I-17. Turn on to the road, East Thousand Trails Rd. This road goes to the Thousand Trails Resort and a Winery. Just a short way off 260 on the left is a large area where you can stay. I have stayed there several times. This is a popular site for the Escapes to rally.
  • I looked into boondocking when there a couple years ago. Decided to stay at Dead Horse Ranch State CG in Cottonwood, liked it. If I recall, there is legal boondocking about half way between Sedona & Cottonwood (I think I called Coconino National Forest office for info).
