Hello Everyone: Will be in Sedona area first two weeks of March. Looking for a good spot to boondock. We drive a Tiffen Phaeton DP, 40ft.Thanks, Vikki

I looked into boondocking when there a couple years ago. Decided to stay at Dead Horse Ranch State CG in Cottonwood, liked it. If I recall, there is legal boondocking about half way between Sedona & Cottonwood (I think I called Coconino National Forest office for info).

In addition to the above mentioned spot, You can boondock 5 miles south of Cottonwood on AZ-260. From the intersection of 89A and AZ-260 go toward I-17. Turn on to the road, East Thousand Trails Rd. This road goes to the Thousand Trails Resort and a Winery. Just a short way off 260 on the left is a large area where you can stay. I have stayed there several times. This is a popular site for the Escapes to rally.

If you drive a big Tiffin DP why would you look for a place to boondock when there is so many nice CG's in that area-Just wondering?The Az state parks are real nice places to stay also. Rich

There is a large parking area on top of the bluff right by the Sedona Airport. You might call the airport and ask if they will let you stay there for a night or so. From up there you have a great view overlooking the town of Sedona and the surrounding countryside. Even if they won't let you overnight there, it is a great place to visit just for the views.
