- bshpilotExplorersubscribing to this thread, really appreciate the pictures too.
we'll be there in early June (have a gap of a few days between Trailer Village in the Grand Canyon & our Rancho Sedona reservation) & we're trying to figure out what to do. - Smitty77ExplorerAs you can clearly see from the response to the OP questions, and the pictures shared in this thread - their is nothing to do or see in the Sedona area.
So, please stay away from 3/1 - 4/15, as we'll be spending a few weeks during this time, as we hit Arizona for a visit!!
And note, if anyone has the time. Prescott is a fun place to visit too. We like Point of Rocks, just because the owners and staff are so nice, and good hiking around the two lakes... Close to Costco/Walmart and Downtown too. But a tip, if you decide to visit Prescott from Sedona or Cottonwood areas - do not go thru Jeromes!
Best to all,
Smitty - alexleblancExplorerI have nothing to add other than the fact that I spent the last 10 days there, got back yesterday. Ton's of stuff to do, see and eat out there. Amazing place to Vacation - if you like Wine, the Page Springs Winery is absolutely fantastic.
a few pictures of our trip:
Sedona from the Airport road:
Tlaquepaque, we stayed at the resort right behind it, Los Abrigados:

We boondocked with our 40' motorhome to get away from people and enjoy the scenery. RVs are self-contained for a reason. :) - 2gypsies1Explorer III

Unless, of course you're simply looking to get away from the crowds. The best "free" camping in the area is off Thousand Trails Rd. as RV2Go indicated. Dead Horse State Park is in Cottonwood, a short drive to Sedona. Finally, make sure you check local codes for parking near Sedona/Oak Creek Canyon. IIRC, they were pretty restrictive given the tourist mentality of the City....Dennis
Things in the area not to be missed:
Tuzigoot National Monument
Montezuma's Castle
Montezuma Lake
Verde Valley Train Ride
Red Rock Canyon
Sedona's Energy Vortexes
Jerome- A ghost town - Nutinelse2doExplorerHi Vikki
Might want to check boondocking off of Schnebly Hill Road. It's a gorgeous area.
Here is a link on it. It's the closest to Sedona.
Cheryl - rgatijnet1Explorer IIIThere is a large parking area on top of the bluff right by the Sedona Airport. You might call the airport and ask if they will let you stay there for a night or so. From up there you have a great view overlooking the town of Sedona and the surrounding countryside.
Even if they won't let you overnight there, it is a great place to visit just for the views. - Markiemark32Explorer

Are Tiffin DP's not self sufficient rigs?
