I was very surprised by the way RV dealers seem to do business now. I just had what I would call a very good experience buying my new to me 2003 Beaver. They agreed to fix everything on the coach before delivery. On the buyer's order, the sale was contingent on everything being fixed to my satisfaction or the sale would not continue. Then, and I knows it's probably just me, I had to sign the finance paperwork. I, in my ignorance, thought that the paperwork would be held in case the sale didn't go through. Not the way it happened. I had a payment due to the bank before I even picked up my MH! Big learning experience for me. I say I had a very good experience because the dealer, Orlando RV, lived up to their part of the bargain. They fixed things that I didn't know about. I won't say the coach is perfect, it still has an issue or two but I'm lucky I was dealing with honest management because I could have been screwed without the offer of even a kiss! The sales staff was kind of typical, lips moving you know what coming out. So I guess my point is that it seems to be standard to pay first, make sure you get everything on the buyer's order and pray!!
