If you have a foot operated parking brake there is a "Pin switch" or plunger switch on teh upper bracket. LIkely has two wires running to it (The bracket is the 3rd wire) sometimes this switch "Sticks" in the OPEN position (DEPRESSED) and releasing the brake and reapplying un-sticks it.
You can also snap it with your fingers (Push up and let it snap back down)
I call it the @!()#*@#$ Parking brake switch for obvious reasons.
