Services at nonselling dealer

All dealers should honor the warranty.
Finding quality service is another story.
Common myth is that selling dealer takes better care about you, but do you really think that mechanic in the shop knows or cares that the salesman in front office made nice commission on your coach?

I've always gone to a dealer where I didn't buy my coach. I've tried a few until I found a dealer I liked. One dealer told me my wait time would be longer as they giver preferential treatment to their customers who bought there. But the dealer I use now could care less and has treated me great. In summary, most dealers won't care, but use care in selecting a dealer for work.

I think it is pretty common for an RV dealer to tell you "sure, we'll do warranty work for you. Next July."

kayteg pretty much said it, don,t worry about it, get your rig in A 1 shape , get enjoy your trip.

I always check RVServiceReviews.com for users evaluations of dealers. You can often find alternatives to the dealers there too.

I've found that really good service centers are very busy so make any appointments well in advance.

It depends if you buy from competing dealer, but in the case of moving most dealers will likely see you as a future potential customer. Dealers make a lot of money off service, smart dealers recognize that and if push comes to shove you may drop in priority, but unless they really have more work than they can handle they should help.

Now, competing dealers may tell you to buzz off. Closest Georgetown dealer won't even call me back for service after they wouldn't come down on price and to save 4K I drove 5 hours. Found another shop that does better warranty work anyways, no worry.

Dealers rarely make money on WARRANTY Service. A Good Service Dept. can make money. But not from warranty. Doug

I have been involved in the RV sales and repair business since 1985
we for the most part always make money on warrenty repair but not quit at the same rate as our door rate.Sometimes we are shorted on time by a manufacturer and the next time we short the manufacturer so it all works out in the end
I have dealt with many manufacturers over the years you have to know them all to play the game

Well, I have been involved in just the DEALER SERVICE end for 37 years and I can guarantee you do not make money on warranty. Not when you add in the cost of warranty clerks and all the parts order and returns and the lower Flat Rate times involved. There is NO game. Doug
