Shop Labor Rate. Survey.

The Service segment in the RV Industry is vital to the satisfaction of the RV customer. Please answer yes or no to this question; I'm very curious...

If there was an RV Service facility in your area, that scored 8-10 on the level of service and had immediate service openings would you do business there if their labor rate was $190.00 per hour? Yes or no please. Thank you in advance. Tommy
  • NO.

Having been on the road full timing now the lesson I have learned.....

I have most of my major chassis work done at semi-truck repair and/or RV Mobile Repair at whatever CG/city I am at when needed.

Both places have FAR FAR better qualified service technicians and reasonable rates. Parts on hand or ordered and job completed in one day NOT 2 weeks. And more importantly for me it is done right the first time.
  • NO not a chance in Hell unless Im stuck on the side of the road somewhere.
  • Probably not. $190 per hour is pretty steep even by today's standards. Before I'd go there I would look for an independent mobile tech which is what I do many times now and save a bunch of money. Besides I know a mobile tech with 30 years experience who is more knowledgeable than those in most shops that charge $110 per hour.
  • Yes, but I would only take it there for warranty work.
