Fuel costs: 8-10 mpg on gas, 12-15 mpg on diesel. Per gallon, diesel is about $0.20/gal more, but IMHO, diesel costs less overall. Towing capacity is limited in this size. Ours is 350 lb hitch weight and 3500 lb tow capacity. Towing will definitely decrease your fuel mileage.
You may already have some preference on diesel vs. gas. We have our first diesel ever, and we like it.
Nightly costs at campgrounds run $10 to $70 in my experience. Having a Senior Pass gets you a great discount at National Parks.
'Dry' camping AKA 'boondocking' cost is about zero, and many Walmarts let you stay overnight for nothing, but of course one should spend some money in the store, to be fair.
Propane runs around $3.89/gal, and usually I buy refills of about 7-10 gal per trip, but so far our trips have been 4 days at the most. Longer trips planned.
There are many other incidental costs for gear that you decide to buy in order to make your trips more enjoyable, safer, less likely to have a crisis, etc, etc.
Ours is 24ft, and I have spent much time and money devising increases in storage capacity, mostly out back. Several of them documented here.
Food costs are about the same as you would have at home. Restaurants of course cost much more.
