I have had this discussion countless times....
If you get out your computer's spreadsheet and do a REAL evaluation of the cost of RV travel, you will find that it is typically right there with travel by passcar. But that is just for the travel. It counts on the fact that you are just traveling and not trying to get to any desirable location for an event. It also doesn't include the fact that the meals are what you want and on your schedule.
Now, try to go to a music festival or any such thing where the local accommodations are either booked full or price jacked. Restaurant space is tight and basic facilities are strained and think about the fact that you have that all at hand.
We took a massive hit with the depression. I no longer have any work and much of my retirement got "redistributed" to union workers that were paid better than I ever was. But the coach is a left-over (it was used for my work for years), and it is now the only reason we can afford to travel.
