Liberty Harbor Marina and RV Park in Jersey City, New Jersey, is probably the closest rv park to New York City. It is just a gravel parking lot with water and electric hookups, but it is in a great location. There is a daily commuter ferry to Manhattan next to the park and it is only a mile or so walk to a train that goes under the Hudson River and into the city. Have a great trip"
Lived on Long Island for many years and in Pennsylvania now. NYC for Christmas season is the best... I have checked and plan to go to this park mid December and into the city for shopping etc. Approaching from the Jersey side is fine and you will have a great time.

Actually, the Buffalo end of the state is much cheaper. But no $10 Rolex or $15 Prada handbags here! Maybe a cheap Cow pie.

I got a Rolex for $10.00 there. I'm actually going to Port Chester on Saturday night to see the B52s then Sunday lunch at Carmine's on Broadway then see a show. It's only a little over a hour by train for us. I only drove into and around the city a handful of times. Parking really blows and bring a beater car. - LipetsExplorer
