Shore power and generator

Transfer switch should handle it. However the first thing my dealer told me concerning genset was to always unplug from shore power first as a precaution.
I have followed those instructions

THANKS....dumb question....transfer switch, I assume it's on the generator itself? I'm also assuming that by switching it, it'll prevent power going from generator to RV? Thus just letting the gen run?

I do on mine. Never a problem.
Transfer switch handles it.

you can, but why would you want to.If all u want to do is make sure it starts? To be super safe turn off the output breakers on the gen set although your transfer switch should suffice
