Have you tried to see if your lights work if you unplug shore power? Do you have lights if the engine is running? Have you tried cycling the disconnect for the house batteries? if you can use a VOM, and have one, have you checked to see if you have 120 volts on both legs of the 50 amp supply? You should have 12 volt lights whether you are plugged into shore power or not. You inverter only supplies 120 volt power when shore power is not available, I believe. Without more information, its hard to give more advice.
