short term storage

Hello everyone

I have a 2003 Ford V10 ( four winds hurricane ), staying in South California . I want to know the best tips for short term storage ( around 4 months ), regarding batteries ( keep connected or disconnect ) and any other tips, I am very new to RVs so any tips will help.

    For me, 4 months would be "long term storage" (Dec. to March each year) and I empty everything out and throw the battery disconnect. April through November, when it may sit for up to 4 weeks, I just park it in the drive and plug it into a drop cord to keep the fridge cold and the batteries topped off. We keep the pantry stocked and ready to go at a moments notice.

    It's best to disconnect the house batteries.

    You may want to cover the tires to prevent UV damage but they will be OK for four months without being covered.

    The starting battery if it's good and fully charged should last the 4 months but you may want to start the MH every few weeks if you can. Or get one of those solar panels that sits on the dash to keep the starting battery charged.

    Disconnect for storage. A master switch is easiest. OR with solar everything will stay charged. Have you considered solar?
