Shout out for Roadmaster

Last week we drove into Alaska via the Alaska Highway and on into Valdez via Alaska 1. It'seems basically still winter here and the road from Haines Junction to TOK is washboard type of frost heaves. Not a problem if you keep it under 35-40 going over the dips and bumps. Same thing with the TOK cut off and Alaska 1 into Valdez.

My problem became apparent when I inspected the toad, towbar and drop receiver when we got to Valdez. The drop receiver was bent about 10 degrees down. Consequently I removed the drop receiver and connected up without it when we headed to Anchorage.

I contacted Roadmaster about the drop receiver hoping that they just might give me a discount on a new one. Well, I received an email from the support supervisor stating that they were going to ship me a new 10K solid shank receiver at no cost to me. Roadmaster service is outstanding!!!!

Nice to hear good reports about suppliers.
  • Good to hear. We've used Roadmaster for years and have always been pleased. At a Rally a few years back there was a slip on our door; it was from Roadmaster. They had inspected and serviced our attached tow bar while we were out. That was nothing we asked for, just a courtesy from them. It was much appreciated.
