Paul, on our previous '08 Dynasty, the center floor was tile and the slide flooring was carpet. I could tell when closed that the lip does stick up but we had carpet that covered that area.
If we didn't have carpet over lapping, there would be an opening.
So, did you replace carpet with a hard surface material?
