slide-out drift

Last fall I replaced my EZ Glide slide-out cylinder with the bent rod for the properly designed new one with a larger rod. I found out that the original designers had thought the older rods were not sufficient but economics ruled. Recently, my slide has started to drift out when it is in. It does not tend to drift in while out. Have any other owners of Fleetwood motorhomes with EZ Glide slides had to replace the cylinder and if so, have you experienced any slide drift problem?
