Slide out question

New to me 04 Winnebago Adventurer 35U.
Left Phoenix Thursday and all was Ok.
Front slide seems to have dropped down about 1/4 inch according to the decals on the side, only on the front part of the slide.
I can hear it squeaking and it might be moving up and down because of the rough roads.
Question is, would there be an adjustment to make it level again??
Last question is how to replace the oring/gasket in the Sealand toilet.
It will not hold water in the bowel any more. It worked well just a short time ago.
Thanks for any suggestions or comments.
Mike

  • Thanks for all the information so far. Have not had time to look at the slide problem but will in a day or two.
We looked like the Clampets coming home and as we all know it takes a while to get unpacked and organized.
As far as the toilet goes, it will only hold the water in the bowel for a minute or so. It is leaking to the holding tank.
I'm betting it needs a new seal. It is a porcelain toilet so It's worth repairing.
Thanks for all the help/suggestions so far.

  • I'll go after the toilet question. So is the toilet leaking water on the floor or is it just simply not holding a level of water in the bowl for a long period of time? How long does it take to drain out? May be some debris.
  • Before adjusting bolts on the slide take a look at the end of the arm the rail slides into. Should be a white nylon piece, spacer. The rail slides across that. If it is broken or missing the slide will drop on that end.
  • Mike, most all slides are the same. With the slide extended, look under the outer edge. Usually there are vertical bolts that are double nutted that adjust the height of the slide. You'll typically have one at both ends.

Make sure the coach is sitting on level ground. Loosen the double nuts and adjust the bolt, lifting the slide. Make your adjustment and then retract the slide to see if the stripes line up, repeat procedure if necessary.

Often, if the slide has dropped a little, it can be rubbing on the opening casing your creaking noise. It's good idea to always check all of the components for anything unusual, broken welds or loose bolts. Once dune, lube the slide out mechanism.
  • With the slide out, pull the rubber seal back and look in with a flashlight. There are rollers right behind the seal. Sometimes they can have issues.
  • I replaced my Sealand toilet rather than take it apart not worth the trouble or time to repair. Put in a china bowl and best thing I've done!! I would run the slide out and back in to see if it just didn't drop from the ruff road or just did't seat when you ran it in the last time!!
  • Mike, there are some video's on you tube showing how to replace a toilet seal. Not too bad a job, just time consuming and messy.
  • Depends on which slide there should be bolts to adjust the up down on the slide and on the toilet try cleaning the seal if that doesn't work you have to take the toilet apart to replace that seal
