First question is whether the rock switch is merely conducting power to close a relay or actually conducting enough power to operate the slide motor.
If the first, easy to diagnose-- use a small jumper wire at the relay from "always hot" large lug to the positive "signal" terminal. If everything works as it should, then you have a problem with the switch or wiring from positive to switch or switch to relay.
