Slide won't come in-help

2005 Itasca Horizon 40AD

Our right living room slide won't come in. You can hear the motor when you push the in button but nothing happens. Our left living room and bedroom slides work fine. Never had any problems before. We need to move the motorhome and need slide in. Coach is level with jacks down.
Any help would be appreciated.

If you can hear the motor running, that sure sounds like a shear pin has broken. :(

You would think there should be a manual crank somewhere for that model. Maybe it grabs the gear at a different spot where the motor engages...

We did try with the engine running and still won't come in.

It's the right slide on passenger side. When you push the button you can here the motor but nothing happens. All other slides work fine. We did try pushing on slide while button was being pushed with no luck.

Is it total electric with a POWER GEAR unit perhaps? Does the motor have a lever (maybe enclosed in rubber) on the back to disengage the elect. brake. It could have been moved to the unlock position for manual operation inadvertently and especially if it's in a basement compartment.

  • You are talking about the drivers side flat floor sldie aren't you. If the engine running does not help the have someone push on it while you push the button and once it gets up the ramp it should come right in.
  • Not familiar with your slides but I'd look for a broken shear pin, key or other malfunction in the drive mechanism.
  • Try cranking the engine nd trying again. Sometimes that slide needs to have the battery a little more charged.
