Wife and I are looking at small class A's. Class B and B Plus are to small for us. Plus wife is claustrophobic. Any suggestions? We owned 5 motorhomes,so we are not new to this. Had 1 class A, 4 class C's and now own a 35ft fifth wheel. Time to go back to motorized. Would appreciate any input you would have. Don't want another class C. What say you! Road Dog

Dog we have a 34bd 2001 Itasca and love it. Not too big and not too small just wright for the two of us.

31 foot 2005 Gulfstream. Drives easy, have lived in it for over 5 months at a time (just two of us) occasional overnight visitors with no problem. Just about right for us. Another couple of feet would be good.

We are enjoying our Jayco Alante 26X. We downsized from a Diesel Pusher as we are more "campers" than an "RV Resort" type of family. The ride on the short Class A is rougher than our previous Class C and it is not as good as our Diesel Pusher with an Air Ride Suspension. But the 26X is comfortable enough for what we do. We pull our Jeep Wrangler Unlimited to many of the places we go, it is noticeable on very steep grades, but we do ok with it back there. JH

Two years ago we downsized from a 35' 5er to a 30' Thor ACE, at times we think we downsized to much but when all is said and done we are happy.

Road DogMight I ask, what the time frame was for all these RV's?A class A is the only way to go IMO and the bigger the better if you have a place to park it.

I am still taking it out, be surprised at what all can hide in those slide out trays. Can't sell it till we get it unloaded.

Agree with the DW and a lot of "stuff"! When we got rid of our first travel trailer, I was shocked at how much stuff I took out of the storage compartments that we had never used.

I don't buy that "you can't downsize and be happy" theory. We went from trailers to class B then severalclass C, then a 45ft Monaco Dynasty, a 40ft Winnebago, and now a 36ft Monaco. Lot less BS to keep up with and less space for DW to store "STUFF".

+1 on this. The Sport looks much bigger than 29' with the slide out (one big slide on the street side). However, I don't think you can get to the potty with the slide in.

Also look at the Trek. The early Safari Treks were FRED on an Izusu truck chassis. Monaco re-invented the Trek in 2015, keeping the drop down front bed and putting in a rear Murphy bed as well.

Another vote for checking out the smaller Newmar Bay Star or Canyon Star motorhomes. They are well built and you can find some good deals on used units. The Tiffin motorhomes are another line to look at. IMHO, after that, Winnebago/Itasca units are pretty good. I would always go for the better units even if it means buying used....but that is just my 2 cents worth! As you know from reading these forums, name a brand and there are happy owners!

Newmar has some very nice smaller MH’s with slides to make it nice and roomy. We have the Bay Star Sport 3004 which they only made for one year, but with all slides out, plenty of room for two people.

I had a 1999 36' Class A Bounder. Then a TT, now have the 2015 34' Forest River Georgetown Class A. The dash tapers downward, and the windshield wraps around the pillars. Fantastic view while driving. Definitely would help with claustrophobia issues.

There are smaller versions of this same model, which I believe have the same dash/windshield view.

Well, not like you can't make up your mind for one or the other and you have made use of each decision over a period of 17yrs.
Again go with the A and be done with it, the larger the better and not many downsize with happiness.

We are fairly new to the class A world (used to have a 30' travel trailer) but we really like our Miramar 35.3. The layout is perfect for 2 people. It has a king size bed, bath and 1/2 and an L shaped couch. I was hesitant at first because I wanted something smaller (the 35.3 is 37') but I am really glad the wife talked me into this model. Like someone else said, if you have the room to put it get one a little bigger than you think you want. They all seem to shrink once you get them.
