ROCKY (the Flying Squirrel) is a 1991 Daihatsu ROCKY, a small SUV. Daihatsu was the first company to build an automobile in Japan, and was long associated with Toyota and is now owned by them. Daihatsu left the USA in 1992. Its also known in other parts of the world as a Feroza and a Sportrack.
It has a 5-spd manual trans, a 1600cc engine, and 4-wheel drive. Its called a semi-convertible because the rear roof section is removeable plus the cab roof is removeable or used lifted like a big vent. Some have a soft rear top. In addition, it has Power Steering, Air, Conditioning, electric windows, electric locks on all 3 doors, front and rear wipers with washers, headlight washers, transfer case with 2 or 4wd, hi & low. Seats 4, or with rear seat folded up, more cargo area.
Available in different countries as left-hand or right-hand drive.
The speed limit in the People's Republic of California while towing is 55 MPH. Not that anyone other than myself observe that.
I certainly appreciate that some don't want to tow. In my case, I get 15 MPG at 65 MPH not towing, and 15 MPG at 55 MPH while towing.
