snow birds

I would like to know why some many snow birds license there motorhome in florida? Thanks for the info.
  • you do not have to be a resident, nor own property.Mine has been tagged in fl. for 10 years,no personal property tax.fl. mails my renewal to my home address which is the address on reg.
  • Remember though, just because you OWN property in Florida doesn't make that your DOMICILE State. Legally, your vehicles should be registered in your Domicile State with some exceptions. The penalty is pretty stiff if you're caught trying to fleece the tax man of your domicile state....good luck.....Dennis
  • For anyone who has property in FL it makes good sense. However, in our park there are virtually no florida licensed RVs. There are, however, quite a number of park model owners that now have FL plates.

Exactly. We just put a down payment on a lot in our park and as soon as we close in about a week we'll be changing our vehicles over as well. MUCH cheaper then MI.

  • Evidently they are in Florida long enough to establish Florida as their state of residence. I declared Florida as my residence when I lived there and for years after and until I retired from the AF. Florida has no state income tax which was a "biggie" for me.
