Funny how so many on the forum will say a diesel will get a million miles, and is just getting broken in at 400,000. Yet when it comes to buying one, everyone shy's away just like they would if it was a car.
If you're nervous about driving a car with over 100K, then you're going to be nervous about driving a MH with over 100K. Gas or diesel doesn't matter.
The diesel engine will do that many miles, but the rest of the coach may be beat to death with that kind of use. - Kayteg1Explorer IIThis is the way it goes.
Mercedes cars with very low mileage sell in Florida for 1/2 price they go in California as well. - rockhillmanorExplorer IIThe MH is located in Ocala, FL. I am staying close to there right now and I have to tell you guys......
RV's are CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP down here.
It was one sad revelation for me.
I bought a winter house down here with plans to sell my MH when I got here. What a mistake! I should have sold it up North and ultimately will. I am not going to give my MH away at the prices they are at here. - travelbayshore1ExplorerJust wondering if this is water damage??

- rgatijnet1Explorer IIIAt 400,000 miles/kilometers the engine is only one of the major concerns. The chassis has also had that many miles, which includes the transmission, differential, ALL suspension components, radiator, AC compressor, and so on. There are many many items that could be on their way to failing that could easily cost as much to deal with as an engine rebuild. A diesel engine is just one component of a complex system and even tho it may last a million miles, all of the stuff around it may may start to fail and eat a big hole in your wallet.
- Blaster_ManExplorerThere's a difference between an OTR truck diesel with 400k on it and a MH diesel with 400k. Everything else in the MH has 400k on it also...refrig, TVs, ACs, heater, furniture, water system, etc. That's a lot of use.
On edit: If the 400,000 is kilometers, that equals 240,000 miles. - mike_brezExplorer

Big difference between 100k and 400k. I think most say a diesel is just broke in at 100k. No problem buying a diesel with 100k gas with 100k would be a issue. - John_JoeyExplorerFunny how so many on the forum will say a diesel will get a million miles, and is just getting broken in at 400,000.
