I'll let someone with a newer rig answer. But putting on roof is not bad. Roof should be checked every year and sealed around protrusions at least every 2 years. Then a complete reseal 3 to 5 years.
I was just getting confused. Some sites had people just drilling in a screw and covering in dicor.. the instructions say I can do this, or it says I can use well nuts which it doesnt come with and then to cover in dicor.
If this is as simple as driving in a screw and covering in dicor then decision made.
Just not sure about this TPO roof...
Yep, it's just about that simple, TPO or fiberglass. Just don't try to power drive the brackets to final tightness as the wood backing is thin and you can strip the screw out if not very careful. I used #10 screws to get the most "locking" area. In addition, I used 2 brackets on each panel corner as I wanted the ability to raise the panels on all 4 axes. We've got 4 panels on the roof now and will be putting 2 more up as soon as I fabricate the brackets.
Putting a panel on the ground is very easy, but you run the risk of a "Light Fingered Louie" making off with it when you are off some place or even in the dark.
