I understand only too well about authors. My part time business, where my “play” money comes from, is writing about the leading trends in unconventional hydrocarbon production for the petroleum industry. The thing is, I write it in language that a non-geologist can understand and hopefully enjoy reading. Some of the god-awful half Latin half Greek stuff I have to study, mainly written by and for academia, will almost make one’s eyes bleed. That’s something I’m trying to avoid while learning about a field in which I have very little knowledge.
To answer your prying question regarding my finances. After working hard for my play money I don’t want to waste it on something I won’t read because it’s so poorly written. I hope that answers your question satisfactorily.
