There are so many variables as to what you got and weather or not it's newer enough to have automatic ignition or pilot lights or automatic switching between the two, that you would be best to look up by the model and part number of the appliance, either the manual online or as said above a video on youtube. Or you could take it to a dealer/service station and have them walk you through it. I haven't used it and hate to make plugs on here but camping world offers this service either discounted or free with a good sam membership. They will also allow you to dump there for free with the membership.
