Some of the little things you like/dislike about your DP?

Not talking about the "must have" things like AquaHot, four slides. Girrard awnings.... and now I've added residential refrigerator.

The one I use all of the time and it did not even make my "like to have" list is the remote basement lock/unlock on the keyless entry and on a fob, although I rarely use the fob. Nice to be able to lock and unlock all of them at the push of a number plus they do not use the common CH751 key so I might even be keeping most out.

About the only thing I dislike is the window over the head of the bed. Noisy when open and cool when it's cold out. Also makes it harder to recline in bed and read although I found a metal grill that I hung on hooks so I can still get to the emergency exit.

It would help if we knew what rig you have.

    Busskipper, I've been told a S & B and a MH are cheaper than a divorce.:B

rgatijnet1...I guess I need to add my "air seal front door" to my likes although I never think about it and how quiet it makes it. Ok, I do notice it when the DW tries to open the door and I have not put it in Neutral. You know the "LOOK" they can give you.:S

  • Like- Residential fridge.

Dislike- Frameless windows(hate). Vacu- flush toilet.
  • Likes:
Engine noise in rear(plus or minus, a motor head likes to hear what is going on, right or wrong)
    Smooth operation
    nice floor plan
    decent fuel economy
    decent load capacity
    large fuel capacity

    Dislikes
    Not the quickest on acceleration
Wind noise at front around door and mirrors
Wife didn't like front door and her set back seat
Engines not always the easiest to service
routine service parts not as readily available as with my gas coaches
traveling back roads sometimes limit easy in and out fueling stations
  • Likes: great ride and handling, stacked washer/dryer, heated tile floors, solid cabinetry, storage both inside and out. King bed.

Dislikes: King bed (nice to have but hard to make up... lots of tugging, lifting), window over head of bed (what a stupid idea but it is our bedroom emergency exit), top hinged compartment doors (side hinged would be better), macerator toilet fills tank quickly.
  • Ivy,

Because I think I spent almost 10 years in the "needs" list I have only a few items that I missed.

Heated tile floor in the Bath - TS had never done it before my asking and passed on it till after my Coach was built. As I often use the Coach in the winter and in COLD locations it would have been nice.

We specified a pull out pantry - Wished I had designed it - a lot/little smaller than I would build today.

Spec'd a T in the propane line for a grill and it got lost in production, not a biggy.

Most everything else is as designed -TS was the best - they would do anything you wanted - if you designed it they would build it. Shame they didn't make it out of 2008.

As for likes - I'd say I just LOVE being in the Coach - can't wait to get back in it, so it will be almost full time again.

    JMHO,

DW - will never be without sticks and bricks.
  • Likes:

    Insulated very well
Big weight capacity 17K steer & 315 tires

    Not great:

    Could use more power
Black tank fills quickly with new toilets
  • The one thing I really, really dislike about our coach is the cheap a$$ Lippert entry steps...pure junk.

  • (2008 Monaco Dynasty)...sold...

    Dislike:
-I wish it had a water pump switch on the dashboard. I can't tell you how many time my co-pilot had to get up to check to see if it was off.
-An auto door lock and bay lock switch on the dash would have been convenient too. I had to use the key fob.
-Always dealing with a leaky window.
-No 'slide out warning' (slides not retracted).

    The likes:
-Generally a trouble free drivetrain. Never stranded or towed in almost 70,000 miles (broken hose almost left us on the road but we made to a service center).
-Easy to drive, solid road feel and decent fuel mileage at 40,000 lbs.

    -----------------

    New Coach: Dislikes:
-Things still need tightening as with any coach (price range doesn't matter).
ex: Front door lock latch, fridge lock latch, etc.
-Learning curve on an all electronic coach systems is steep.

    Likes:
-instrument cluster tells me if a window is open or a bay door is open, etc.
-coach will not move unless all slides or in (has emergency bypass).
-button on dash for locking bay doors, entry door.
-all coach functions can be operated from the driver area via built-in Ipad.
