Thanks for the insight as to what the in-tank filter is like. One thing about filters like that is that they're subject to a lot of movement from the fuel in the tank sloshing around. While I'm sure they can and do clog, the in-tank fuel movement has to help keep the filter surfaces clog-free. I probably shouldn't be writing this, fate has a mysterious way of turning our assumptions on end :E!
It'd be nice to replace the in-tank pump just to have a reliable fuel gauge again.
