spare tire

As I said in a different thread on the same subject;
Carry a spare either mounted or unmounted

Mounted means that anyone roadside assistance dispatches should be able to get you going quickly. I have had roadside assistance in Tennessee be nothing more than a big huge guy with a hydraulic bottle jack and a big breaker bar. He probably could not have mounted my 19.5 without using starting fluid. On the road quickly as I let him use my Electric impact wrench.

Unmounted means that most people dispatched will be able to get you going. However in my case above I believe I would have been waiting for a better equipped roadside assistance person.

No spare means that roadside assistance will have to find someone to dispatch that has the size tire you need and that may take hours if you are in a remote area or on a back road. Or you may have to wait until the tire shop that has your size opens up in the A.M.
Will the tire be the brand you prefer? Who knows.
Will the date code be recent? Who knows.
Will you be able to dicker on the price. Come on you know the answer to this one.
In addition you will have the joy of getting a tire that is not balanced when you start your journey again. I prefer balancing to the packs they throw in to balance but with the packs until you have gone some miles your rig will feel different

Let me guess... you were told this by a salesman as why no spare tire with your rig. Pure BS but most Class A's do not come with a spare tire. Depending on how common a size many do not carry a spare, not even an unmounted one. Having a fairly large truck tire shop laugh when I asked if they had one in my size I carry a unmounted tire on my roof.

I carry a spare, a 6 point socket and a breaker bar. I have removed tires several time in my driveway for various maintenance issues. In 70k miles of driving I only had one tire that was leaking but was able to fix it without removing it. I do have emergency road side assistance also.

Is that as delivered by the mfg?

Your best bet is a new steel rim and tire and find a place to carry it, if you got aluminum rims than your spare just needs to be steel that matches your inner dually steel rims.

I have all steel rims with stainless steel wheel covers, makes life easier when changing flats..

All wheels should be interchangeable on the same vehicle. You might have 3 different finishes, if you have Alloy Wheel, Polished on the Convex side for the Front, Polished on the Concave side for the outside rear dual and a steel wheel for the inner duals.
Except for cosmetic purposes, they can be used in any position, except for putting two alloy/aluminum wheels on the same rear corner. The alloy wheel hub/centres are much thicker than the steel hub centres, the studs may not be long enough.

If you have steel wheels and wheel covers, most likely all your wheels are the same.

Tires, just check the front and rear tires for the sizes on them, The rears all have to be the same, in some instances, the fronts may be a different size, but all tires on the same axle should be the same size.
