Maybe - just maybe - Ford is going to resurrect the E550 for real heavy duty use in commercial vans and cutaway van based truck bodies and motorhomes. This would be a natural chassis for Class C builders to use for lengths from say, 28 feet on up - to eliminate builder or owner loading so close to, or over, E450 chassis design limits.
IMHO, there's a real niche market for an E550 - whether it be diesel or gas engined. Way to go Ford!
