Sprinter Driver's Seat Issue

I looked at a 2005 Pleasure Way Sprinter this last weekend. In trying the driver's seat it seemed to me that the seat was too close to the gas pedal and it would be uncomfortable after a few hours. The toilet cubical just behind the driver's seat limited the recline of the seat in it's rear-most position. I'm 5'9" with a 29" inseam so is it just me? What do you guys that are tall think about the Sprinter seating? It turned out there was a barely noticeable crack in the passenger's side of the engine cover so I'd pass on this one anyway, but this seat setup seems to be the norm on many brands.

  • DougE,

We share the same physical measurements and I had a 2005 Pleaure-way Plateau Sprinter. It was fine for me. You're driving bus style sitting upright which is different to what most are normally used to with cars, SUVs, minivans and pickup trucks. However, it was very comfortable for me on long trips more so than many autos I had had where you sat low slung. What I did not like was that bathroom wall tight to the back of the seat but that was more of a claustrophobic thing with me and the limited use of the seat when parked in a campground.

Just goes to prove that everyone is different. :)

We have the older Sprinter and I think the driving comfort on long trips is as good as any vehicle I have ever had and better than most. And my wife feels the same way about the passenger seat (I am 5' 6"). I think the upright seating position without the legs being extended forward as much has something to do with it.

In any case, we have no seating concerns at all with this model of Sprinter.
