Yes, clear is the typical color of Hydraulic Fluid. However, in many cases of these jack systems, red transmission fluid is used, which is fine.
HYDRAULIC fluid is clear. You DO NOT use Hydraulic fluid in RV Jack systems. HWH Jack fluid is Dextron 3 WITHOUT the Red Dye that regular Dextron 3 has added. So, HWH fluid if HWH fluid was used by the OEM builder will be clear and IS Dextron 3(no red dye). If you have red color fluid, it IS Dextron 3 TRANSMISSION fluid. You can mix the 2 with no problem.
