right because your diesel lift pump system is low pressure.your mechanical injection pump is the one that ramps up the high fuel pressures that drive your injectors on your diesel engine
just really two entirely different systems.the Ford system is a multi port injection that's driven by the in tank High pressure electronic fuel pump and the injectors open electronically

In my opinion fuel additives or air filters or fuel filters have little if nothing to do with OP problems;; also I don't think adding a electric fuel pump on top of/to a High Fuel pressure closed rail system multi port fuel injection system will be a feasible option

In the event that magic juices and/or changing fuel & air filters doesn't work, you can add an external fuel pump from Napa to the fuel line if your pump is getting weak. Costs around $100 if you do it yourself.

Start with the most simple thing. Get a bottle of Marvel Mystery Oil, and dump the suggested amount into our gas tank. It will clean your injectors, fuel system, upper cylinders, valves, etc. Often it works on those pesky little fuel start issues. Do it for a few tanks of gas and see if it fixes the problem.

If you notice a smoother running engine when you use it, you know there was fuel delivery issues.

This started to happen to me this year. I poured of Seafoam down the TB and it stared well after that.

I'd start simple and work my way up from there. Change your fuel filter first. Should be fairly simple to do....it's usually mounted on the frame under the coach and will take a couple of wrenches to unbolt/bolt the fuel line and replace it. Might also check/change air filter. If that doesn't work, then I'd suspect the fuel line itself and then the fuel pump. If none of them, you might have to look at the ECM...(electronic control module)....that controls the fuel injection. Could also be a bad engine temp sensor that tells the ECM to send more fuel while the engine is cold.

I just went through a similar starting problem. However mine is a 1995 Chevy chassis. Would crank but not Start. When started would die. I found by feathering the gas pedal rapidly it would stay running, When warmed up ran perfect. It turned out to be low fuel pressure at start up. Replaced fuel pump no more problem. Hope this is not your problem, Expensive.

because everythings electronically controlled its tough to say but have a look see at the IAC Idle air control system.its the deal that makes your motor come on high idle when cold starting etc
I know one thing changing fuel filter ever 5K and fuel stabilizer every tank is a huge waste of money and wont help you one bit
