Shower? I just ran into another fruit loop that refuses to use the toilet, or allow anybody else to do so, in his new motorhome. The guy starts a conversation about my rig, and tells me that the wife wants something bigger, but it's going to be a costly trade. I asked "why not a used one". He then tells me that he just couldn't buy something that somebody else had used the toilet in. I later learn that he and the wife walk a block to the shower house every time they need to use the toilet, day or night. OK, then......................no issue here.
Remind me again why you folks don't use the shower in your rig... - DougEExplorerStupid me. It never occurred to me to wear shorts to the shower house so was always fighting the pants legs. (Pretty munch only wear shorts around the house).

Because there is no shower in my rig.
Ah! THAT I can understand. :) - AcampingwewillgExplorer III only indicated what I do on the rare occasions I don't use my RV shower BUT with that being said, if you are ever near Catalina State Park in Az, you must try their showers. Without a doubt, the cleanest, most spotless shower with great water pressure and plenty of Hot water. I still say to this day, the best I've ever seen/used bar none!!(5 star resorts included).

Yes, what he said. :) It may be hard to believe, but I find it much less hassle just to use the campground shower. And many are better than what seems to be the common experience on this thread. - WVvanExplorer

My travel kit has some nifty zipper pockets and contains, along with the usual stuff:
- plastic hooks that hang over the shower door for extra hanging capacity.
- a few quarters because now and then there are coin-OP showers you discover after undressing.
- refillable travel-size containers of liquid soap like Zest or Irish Spring. Much easier to deal with than wet slippery, gooey soap bars.
-microfiber towel and mini-size designed for household/utility (Dollar Store or automative store) to use for towel & washcloth. Soak up a lot, dry very fast in the RV bathroom. - jrobeExplorerI can take a shower in my RV with about 1-1 1/2 gallons of water if I am careful not to waste water. I would gladly haul a couple gallons of water by hand (fresh water and grey water if needed) to shower in my clean RV bathroom. There is no chance I am showering in a public and usually dirty (and muddy) shower. My wife would be even more adamant about this. To each his own though.

avanti - this "B"-ing the Class B forum... I need to maximize the limited storage capacity for fresh water on my rig. We do pretty good with a whopping 24-ish gallons, can go up to 5 days dry camping with that, but if i can use a camp shower and save my on-board water I'll do it! ST
I have been B camping for a decade now and have used our wet-bath to shower literally every single morning. I consider it one of the great pleasures of B-van ownership--up there with sleeping in one's own bed every night. I can go three days between dump/fills without even thinking about. With care I can go five, as you say. I have never seen a campsite that had a shower but not facilities to dump and refill. I'm sure there are exceptions, but they must be rare. The "save water" motivation doesn't make sense. The reasons for avoiding public showers are implicit in the existence of this thread. I still don't get it.
