Those books may just scare you. Your trip (MI to Moab) on I70 will hit no extended "steep" grades. Except for the mile east as you approach the Eisenhower tunell - maybe about 8%0 and 3 lanes wide. No problem - semis pull that every day! Except for very short distances Interstate highways are limited to no more than 6%.
