Steer tire width...

Thinking of changing the steer tire width from 9.25" to 11" with all the other specs the same or better. Object is to save money and get a tire with extra long tread life.

Any expert opinions on changing the steer tires to a size 1.75" wider? There seems to be plenty of room in the wheel well, and I will measure lock to lock before ordering. Don't want to lose any turn radius.
