- CarlGeoExplorerI installed a Safe-T-Plus stabilizer on my Safari 38 ft DP primarily for the safety of a front tire blow out, BUT was very happy with the improvement of general steering stability. Steering was not a particular problem prior to installation, but it was much improved after installing the Safe-T-Plus.
Would recommend a stabilizer be installed for safety during a blow out. If you have steering problems, I would recommend making sure all steering gear parameters are set correctly, including alignment and tire pressure. - Sully2Explorer

Installed a Safe-T-Plus steering stabilizer in mine some years ago. Well worth the money; could potentially save your life in a front tire blowout (though nothing is an absolute guarantee in such a situation). If interested, look up the videos where front tires were intentionally blown with small explosives while a cement truck, RV, etc, were being driven. Was very impressed. Got it primarily because of my RV's poor handling in wind gusts. It really helps.
Same here...Safe-T-Plus...on my Southwind gasser. It worked wonders for it - bluebarry1964bExplorerInstalled a Safe-T-Plus steering stabilizer in mine some years ago. - Rwake901ExplorerI installed a Roadmaster Steering stabilizer. I feel it made a big difference in the ease of steering. It helps return the steering to center without as much or no input from the driver. But if your looking for it to drive like your car I'm not sure anything will do that. But I'm very happy with it and glad I installed it...

I've had that same one for about 80,000 miles. It is adjustable on the fly and it does make things a little easier to keep things going straight. I doubt if it will help much in the event of a front tire blow out since the power steering is much more powerful than the shock absorber on the steering stabilizer. This is assuming that you have your hands on the wheel.
The only problem I have experienced is when trying to set it up while driving down the road. As soon as you hit the button to disengage it, the vehicle tends to veer off to one side or the other. Not a lot but it does need correction to stay in the lane. Then you go through sort of a trial and error until you finally hit the spot where it tracks straight down the road. Once you get it set right, I doubt if you will adjust it very often. - GdlowExplorer

I was wanting to know how many have steering stabilizers and justify cost of adding. Which brand is the best.
I put one on for the safety aspect, and as a result am pleasantly surprised at how much easier it handles in wind...:C - mike_brezExplorer

I got my MH aligned with 4-1/2 degrees of caster. That eliminated the need for a stabilizer.
I don't/didn't need it I just got it for a little insurance in case of a front tire blow out and the Tru Center is adjustable on the fly for road crown and windy conditions. - turbojimmyExplorerSubscribing...
