STEPS MAKING CLANGING NIOSE

Hope someone can answer this question. When the steps on my Georgetown go down they clank about 6 or 7 seven times, like the motor is engaged, then they are fine. They only make the noise when they are fully out. THANKS IN ADVANCE.
  • I have a 2010 Georgetown and current have the same problem too. Last year had to replace the pin and this year while on a trip it started to make a clanging/grinding noise while extending. It didnt do it when retracting. By time I got back home, the steps would not close the whole way. Right now it's in the shop.
  • You have a bad step motor. Doug
You also probably have SCS/LCI steps----Common problem
  • From your description I would say that our steps make the same noise. I did have to replace the shear pin on ours aboutt wo years ago and noticed it more after that??
    Where in Canada? Ontario here.
